Overview

Professional liability claims provide scope for a particularly wide range of defences. Forming a view as to the strength of such defences and how best to run or (as the case may be) to dispose of them is always at the heart of such claims. This seminar will focus on some of the more important defences encountered in practice. Consideration will be given to the key principles along with issues of evidence and tactics - and, of course, an update on the latest case law.

A choice of workshops will be offered and will focus on various specific types of professionals and consider practical or topical aspects of claims against such professionals. The workshops will have a facilitator and include Wilberforce Silks and junior barristers who specialise in the field.

Speakers

John Martin QC (Chair); Jonathan Seitler QC; James Ayliffe QC; Joanna Smith QC; Joanne Wicks QC; Clare Stanley; Julian Greenhill; Tiffany Scott.
