Practice Overview
Gabriel's main areas of interest include trusts and estates, revenue law, occupational pension schemes and real property.
The bulk of her practice is advisory, with Gabriel undertaking drafting work, often when the documents are needed in unusual situations.
She acts frequently in cases relating to trusts, the administration of estates and charities that often involve tax advice. Gabriel's expertise in trust law has also seen her practice extend into the field of pensions.
She has a wide practical knowledge of conveyancing, in addition to advising regularly in mainstream areas of land law such as mortgages, restrictive covenants, easements and problems relating to land registration.
Gabriel has built up a specialist knowledge of pre-1926 land law through work undertaken in relation to the redevelopment of land formerly owned by British Rail and other statutory bodies.
Qualifications
Gabriel Hughes obtained a First Class degree in Law at Cambridge. Before commencing her pupillage she spent six months in the commercial conveyancing department at Farrer & Co.
