Michael Bloch QC represented Anheuser-Busch in an application to cancel a number of trade marks owned by arch-rivals Budejovicky Budvar, who in turn argued that Anheuser-Busch had acquiesced for too long in the existence of the trade marks on the Register.

The case involved some complex arguments about the proper construction of a number of provisions of the Trade Marks Act.
