Edward has substantial experience of pensions litigation and advising on the technical pensions points that arise in such cases. In recent times, much of Edward's pensions work has involved Pensions Regulator cases arising under the regulatory powers in the Pensions Act 2004. Edward has acted for employers, trustees and members.  Cases include:

• A major financial support direction case involving a multi-billion dollar buyout deficit.
  
  
• A disputed claim for a contribution notice involving an alleged avoidance of a section 75 debt.
  
  
• Acting as junior counsel in several cases on behalf of trustees or employers seeking rectification of the scheme rules or Hastings-Bass relief.
  
  
• Several Pensions Ombudsman cases on maladministration in a number of different schemes.
  
  
• Several pensions-related professional negligence cases involving actuaries or independent financial advisors.
