Emily has a strong interest in cases involving the provision of financial services. Examples of cases in which she has recently acted include:

• Acting for a high profile facilitator of investment opportunities in the Middle East, in a contractual and restitutionary claim for fees relating to the facilitation of an investment worth £173 million (with John Wardell QC).
  
  
• Acting for a firm of independent financial advisers in defence to a claim brought by trustees of an occupational pension scheme for professional negligence. The case involved complex issues concerning the construction and value of a deferred annuity policy (with Michael Tennet QC).
  
  
• Representing a major financial services company in defence to a claim for investment mis-selling.
  
  
• Acting for a company providing independent financial advice in defence to a professional negligence claim concerning the establishment of a SIPP.
  
  
• Acting for the administrator of a pensions scheme in defence to claims for negligence arising out of the drafting and implementation of pension scheme rules (with John Wardell QC).
  
  
• Advising a national bridging loan financer in relation to a serious of loan transactions and representing the company in proceedings to enforce loan security.
