Joanne's chancery expertise and property specialism enable her to advise on banking and financial transactions and act in related disputes, particularly those concerning property finance, mortgages and guarantees.

Recent work includes:

• Advising on a claim of breach of warranty in respect of a multi-million pound sale of mortgage assets as part of a securitisation transaction
  
  
• Acting for a mortgage lender whose borrower was in default to the tune of more than £20 million in a dispute in relation to the lender's security rights
  
  
• Acting for a bank to protect the value of its security in a case where there had been multiple breaches of solicitors' undertakings (Angel Solicitors v Jenkins O'Dowd & Barth [2009] EWHC 46, [2009] 1 WLR 1220)
  
  
• Advising on complex issues of subrogation and priorities between charges
  
  
• Advising a mortgagee on tacking of further advances
  
  
• Advising on guarantees given by the purchaser of a portfolio of property companies
