Chambers & Partners 2009

Tenancy

We will consider applications for tenancy from experienced practitioners with strong practices that reinforce and complement those of Chambers.

We will treat your application with confidentiality and expect to be able to respond to you within a week of receipt of your application. Should your application be of interest we will discuss with you the next steps in the process at that stage.

Tenancy applications should be addressed to the Chairman of the Tenancy Committee.

We have grown significantly over recent years through recruitment of new members at Silk and Senior Junior level as well as though Pupillage. Integration of members and their practices in a way that both they and Chambers benefit is our paramount consideration.

We believe that we have an extremely attractive and effective support system - members, clerks, management and practice development - for successful practitioners wishing to take the next step in their careers at the Bar. During the application process we would be keen for you to speak with members of chambers who have joined us in recent years.

Our organic growth has been a significant factor in achieving our current reputation as one of the UK's leading chambers. We wish this to continue.

Equal Opportunities

Wilberforce Chambers is committed to the promotion of equal opportunities.

Equality of opportunity is essential for the maintenance of high standards and the provision of a quality service to clients. It also ensures a harmonious working environment for members of Chambers and staff.

In particular we adopt good equal opportunities practice in our recruitment process which involves the use of application forms, a two-tier interview process and the use of objective selection criteria in accordance with the recommendations of the Bar Council's Equality and Diversity Code for the Bar.

Disabled applicants are encouraged to contact Chambers if there are any reasonable adjustments that may be made in relation to their applications.
