  • Regularly advises the Board of the Pension Protection Fund in connection with issues relating to the Pension Protection Fund, the Financial Assistance Scheme and the Fraud Compensation Scheme.

  • Advised Canadian parent companies in the Nortel litigation.

  • Acted for subsidiaries of Lehman group in relation to action by the Pensions Regulator.

  • Advised in dispute concerning scheme funding referred to the Pensions Regulator for determination (2009-10).

     
  • Acted as expert witness of English Law in US Chapter 11 proceedings relating to Financial Support Directions in the Sea Containers litigation.

  • Acted for Secretary of State in continuation of the BT Crown Guarantee case (ongoing).

  • Capital ATL Pension Trustees v Gellately [2011] EWHC 485 (Ch) (validity of equalisation amendments).

  • PNPF Trust Company v Taylor & Ors [2010] EWHC 1573 (Ch) (scope of amendment powers, definition of employer for statutory funding obligations, definition of employment cessation events), appeal pending.

  • TfL v Board of the Pension Protection Fund (2009, ongoing) (application for judicial review of levy determination).

  • Colorcon v Huckell [2009] EWHC 979 (Ch) (application for summary judgment in rectification action).
