International & Offshore CV

Much of Jonathan's work has an international element, including the offshore trust jurisdictions and the US. A flavour of his recent international cases include:

• Acting in a multi-£100m Bermudan case concerning a number of novel points about disclosure of trust information.
  
  
• Acting for the husband in Tchenguiz-Imerman, v Imerman, a multi-£100m international divorce, in relation to the offshore trust networks of the families of the husband and wife.
  
  
• Acting in a Jersey trust dispute spanning a number of potential disputes concerning trustee and protector removal and addition of beneficiaries, currently litigating before the Jersey Courts.
  
  
• Acting (with Brian Green QC) in a number of multi-£bn international trust disputes, covering Bermuda, Cayman and the US.
  
  
• Lehman, Nortel: Acting for UK regulatory body in seeking to enforce in a number of foreign jurisdictions regulatory proceedings brought in the context of the Lehman and Nortel insolvencies.
  
  
• Yukos v Russian Government: instructed (with Brian Green QC) on behalf of Yukos in relation to the offshore trust elements of US$50bn arbitration against the Russian Government.
  
  
• Sea Containers: instructed by creditor in relation to US Chapter 11, culminated in settlement approved by US bankruptcy court in 2009 and plan of re-organisation.
  
  
• Independent Trustee Services v GP Noble & others (ongoing): acting for trustees in international asset recovery claims against about 20 defendants, a number of whom are based in Thailand, Australia and in offshore jurisdictions, arising out of alleged fraud and imprudent investment by former trustees (led by Richard Spearman QC).
