Julian has wide experience across the pensions field including the following recent/notable cases:

• Advising an employer who was erroneously left in place as the principal employer of a pension scheme following a business sale (2009).
  
  
• Advising and acting for the claimant employer in a long-running claim for the correction by rectification or under the rule in Re Hastings Bass of a mistake in the equalisation of benefits under a pension scheme (2008).
  
  
• Advising several sets of trustees and scheme employers on liability for and recovery of debts owed by employers to the scheme.
  
  
• Advising several employers in relation to the scope and application of the powers of amendment within their occupational pension schemes.
  
  
• Appeared successfully for the scheme in obtaining the dismissal of an appeal against a decision of the Pensions Ombudsman - Wilby v Coal Staff Superannuation Scheme [2003] All ER (D) 58.
