Julian has been involved in several notable public law cases including:

Advising and acting for the chair of a public inquiry in proceedings brought against him to prevent publication of a report into corruption in the Turks & Caicos Islands (2009).
Appeared on behalf of London Underground in the High Court and Court of Appeal in judicial review proceedings arising out of the proposed extension to the East London Line - R (Hammerton) v London Underground Limited [2002] 47 EG 148 and R (Prokopp) v London Underground Limited [2003] 19 EG 119.
From 1999 to 2000 Julian was instructed as one of a team of five counsel to the BSE Inquiry.
