There is an often international and offshore thread woven through Lawrence's high value cases.  He has appeared over the years most frequently in Cayman and BVI but has also appeared in cases in many other jurisdictions.

Sometimes this has involved fraud on a grand scale and on other occasions the commercial disputes arising because of the incorporation and operation of funds offshore.  Amongst his best known cases have been his appearances for the BCCI liquidators (ICIC v Adham - over 20 reported decisions in Cayman and England, leading to $2.2 billion judgment made in favour of liquidators in the Cayman Court of Appeal). 

2009, has seen significant work in both Trinidad and other less usual jurisdictions for a local financial institution arising from the well-publicised difficulties of CL Financial Holdings Ltd, which was thought to be the largest group of companies in the Caribbean region.
