Practice Management / Clerks
Our clerking team has a pre-eminent reputation for professionalism and friendliness. Through training, assessment and use of the most modern and highly developed administration systems at the Bar, we work to ensure that all cases are handled in an efficient, effective and prompt way. We never compromise on the reliability of our service to clients.
A strong feature of Wilberforce Chambers’ clerking team is that even though it is comprised of three teams: Senior QC’s, Junior QC’s and Senior Juniors and Juniors, it is effectively one working team. Strong lines of communication ensure that our clients’ needs are met without delay, on every occasion. Our clerks are easily accessible and always happy to discuss the experience, suitability and availability of Counsel.
“The clerking team is just fantastic. The combination of practice director Nicholas Luckman and head clerk Mark Rushton is really stellar. They are a great team.” “The set is service-orientated. It is a very slick operation and is the antithesis of your old-school barristers chambers.” Chambers UK, 2019
“Chambers ‘has grown and gone from strength to strength’ since the ‘solutions driven’ Nicholas Luckman was appointed as practice director. Luckman (‘a stalwart in the offshore legal world’) and head clerk Mark Rushton are ‘both responsive and sensitive to client needs and oversee a commercially focused clerks’ room’. Rushton in particular is praised for ‘going out of his way to ensure a fantastic service and constantly asking how they can get even better’. The clerking team is ‘second to none’, providing ‘an integral part of the exceptional service the set provides its clients’. Solicitors highlight the ‘standout’ Fraser Geddes; a ‘superb’ Ben Rippengale, who is ‘on the ball, efficient, personable and a genuine pleasure to deal’; and Stewart Cameron, who is ‘responsive and great at trying to fix listing problems as well as squeezing in assistance from counsel at short notice when we need it’. In addition, Danny Smillie and the ‘impressive’ Nancy Lee are also recommended.” The Legal 500 UK, 2019
