Tenancy

The following specialist groups at Wilberforce Chambers are inviting tenancy applications (please click to view more information and criteria):

 

All applications should be made in writing to Nicholas Luckman, please include a CV and covering letter containing the following:

  • the area(s) of specialism being applied for;
  • details of current practice, including areas of specialism;
  • details of receipts from practice for the three years prior to the application;
  • details of work done (billed and unbilled) for the three years prior to the application;
  • details of forthcoming trials or other hearings; and
  • the names and contact details of at least two referees (preferably Judicial).

Applications will be treated in strict confidence. The closing date for applications is Friday 27th September 2019.

If applicants are invited for interview the Tenancy Committee may at that stage ask for additional information.

Commercial Disputes Group

The Commercial Disputes Group is seeking to recruit barristers with an established commercial disputes practice to complement and enhance our existing practice areas, which include civil fraud and asset tracing, company and shareholder issues, financial services, joint venture and partnership, and commercial contract disputes.

Insolvency Group  

The Insolvency Group is seeking to recruit barristers with an established Insolvency practice. Our group specialises in all aspects of corporate and personal insolvency law, both contentious and non-contentious and we are experiencing a significant increase in new instructions. The recruitment of specialist barristers will complement the domestic and international expertise of our group and support the work already undertaken by our group in this area.

Trusts, Tax, Probate & Estates Group

The Trusts, Tax, Probate and Estates group is seeking to recruit specialist barristers and professionals looking to qualify as barristers, who have an established practice (of at least 5 years’ call or other PQE) in any or all of the areas of trusts, tax, probate and estates, whether on the advisory or litigation side, to complement Chambers’ longstanding top-tier rated practice group.

Applications are particularly encouraged from practitioners who already have an expertise in advising on the taxation of trusts, in the drafting of trust documents or in tax litigation generally, and such applicants are referred to our “Tax” section under the Trusts, Tax, Probate and Estates area of the website. Practitioners with expertise in the area of trusts, probate and estates without expertise in tax are also welcome to apply.
