Anthony Christopher Taussig
Anthony Christopher Taussig passed away on the 3rd April 2025.
He retired from Chambers in 2006 after a distinguished career in trusts and tax over a period of some forty years. His exceptional drafting skills, honed by his degree in Classics from Magdalen College, Oxford, formed the basis of his massive contribution to the management of Wilberforce Chambers. His hand was always evident behind the various papers and reports generated by the administration of a large set of chambers. His mind as well lay behind those papers and most beneficial changes in our administration can be traced back to his ideas and his influence. He gave unstintingly of his time and generously shared his expertise with our younger members.
His generous spirit found further expression in the many years he devoted to charitable work for the Notting Hill Housing Trust. He never put himself forward as a possible Head of Chambers but his contribution was publicly acknowledged by Ted Nugee QC when Ted received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Chambers & Partners in 2011. The success of our Chambers owes a great deal to Anthony. Our thoughts are with his wife, Penny, and family.
