Marcia Shekerdemian QC on judging panel for The International Corporate Rescue Award 2020

Marcia Shekerdemian QC will sit on a judging panel that will assess entries into the inaugural International Corporate Rescue and International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) Article Competition.

The competition will be open to IWIRC members with less than ten years’ experience in the restructuring profession. The International Corporate Rescue Award 2020 will be given to the best and most original article in the field of restructuring and insolvency law as recommended by the Judging Panel. In determining the best article, the Judging Panel will take into account the relevance of the subject matter, the quality and rigour of its analysis, and the clarity and logic of the arguments presented.

The judging panel consists of: Raquel Agnello QC (Erskine Chambers), Kathlene Burke (Associate, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom (UK) LLP), Katharina Crinson (Counsel, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP), Jo Hewitt (Managing Director, Alvarez & Marsal), Mark Fennessy (European Head of Restructuring, Proskauer Rose LLP and Editor-in-Chief of International Corporate Recue), Marcia Shekerdemian QC (Wilberforce Chambers) and Felicity Toube QC (South Square).

The article length is between 3,000 and 5,000 words and should have a maximum of two co-authors. Articles can address any subject matter in the field of insolvency and restructuring. However, the discourse should address issues of wider relevance to the restructuring profession and display originality of thought.

The winner of The International Corporate Rescue Award 2020 will receive a hard copy subscription to International Corporate Rescue journal (Volume 18/year 2021), a trophy, and a Fortnum & Mason hamper. The award will be formally presented at an upcoming IWIRC London Network event. The winning article will be featured in the last issue of the current International Corporate Rescue journal volume (Volume 17/Issue 6) as well as on the IWIRC communication platforms.

The competition will be open between 1 March and 1 July 2020. Entries can be submitted by email to submissions@chasecambria.com with the wording International Corporate Recue and IWIRC Article Competition 2020 clearly marked in the email subject. Authors are invited to submit a short biography alongside their article.
