David Pollard and Wilberforce Chambers are delighted to invite you to celebrate the recent publication of two Bloomsbury Professional titles:
Published in April 2022 and November 2021 respectively, we took the decision to delay the launch event for these titles due to the Coronavirus pandemic but look forward to catching up with many of you over drinks and canapés in Chambers on Wednesday 21st September.
Corporate Insolvency: Employment and Pension Rights: In his foreword, Mr Justice Segal refers to this new edition as a “splendid magnum opus”. The new 7th edition draws out the legal principles applicable where employment law and pensions law interact with corporate insolvency law. The aim of this book continues to be bridging the gap between what have generally been regarded as three separate legal disciplines. Legal practitioners, whether solicitors or barristers, have tended to specialise in one area only, whether it be pensions law, employment law or insolvency law. Each of these areas is covered by its own legal books and literature although the pensions area has seen the least by way of legal literature.
Connected and Associated: Insolvency and Pensions Law: A new book, discussing in detail the meaning and scope of the ‘connected’, ‘associated’ and ‘control’ tests used in the Insolvency Act 1986, in sections 249 and 435. These are important tests for insolvency law and in pensions law (they are incorporated by reference in pensions legislation). It also looks at the linked ‘connected person’ test used in the new Administration (Restrictions on Disposal etc. to Connected Persons) Regulations 2021.
