She is frequently instructed in matters with a Swiss nexus, often combining complex chancery, commercial and matrimonial issues.

Roxane has extensive experience of high-value cross-border litigation. She is described as “excellent at cases involving international jurisdictions” (Chambers & Partners 2025). Roxane is called to the Geneva Bar and frequently instructed in trust, succession and family disputes involving Switzerland. Recent cases have involved jurisdiction disputes, worldwide freezing orders, cross-border enforcement, foreign marriage and Inheritance contracts, as well as complex asset structures in Switzerland, Czech Republic, Singapore, the Isle of Man and the Bahamas.

Roxane is consistently ranked in Chambers & Partners. She is described as a “brilliant lawyer” with a “sharp tactical mind” (Chambers & Partners 2025). Roxane’s recent notable work includes:

Trusts

  • Advising (with Marcia Shekerdemian KC) the owner of a multi-billion-pound energy group on the validity of an offshore trust challenged in English insolvency proceedings.
  • Acting for the wife (with Matthew Paton, 5 Stone Buildings) in the context of Swiss divorce proceedings involving significant transfers (est. £250m) by the husband into an offshore trust, including successful application for injunctive relief in the offshore jurisdiction.
  • Representing the minor and unborn beneficiaries in a Public Trustee v Cooper blessing application involving an Isle of Man Trust ($25m) and complex U.S. tax issues (with Gilead Copper KC for the executors).
  • Acting (as sole counsel) for a large hedge fund company in a breach of trust claim in respect of a death-in-service benefit payment.

Matrimonial Finance

  • Acting (as sole counsel) in a HNW divorce jurisdiction dispute (c. £25m) between England and Switzerland, involving a Swiss post-nuptial agreement, non-disclosure allegations and complex business valuation issues.
  • JK v LM [2024] EWHC 1442 (Fam) – Acting (as sole counsel) in a successful High Court application for a freezing order, restriction and legal services order in a Schedule 1 case involving a Czech multimillion-pound trust and dispositions to third parties.
  • Advising (with Alice Hawker) on the impact of a financial remedy order on the beneficial ownership of a £45m property in the context of repossession proceedings.
  • Advice on securing domestic third-party disclosure orders and freezing orders against a Swiss pension provider in aid of financial remedy proceedings in England.

Probate and Estates

  • Acting (with Louise Hutton KC, Essex Court Chambers) in a successful application for disclosure of the will of a deceased judgment debtor, following a post-judgment freezing order to secure the enforcement of a $40m judgment.
  • Advising trustees on the construction of a Will trust in a succession dispute involving a multi-million-pound property portfolio.
  • Securing a substantial settlement for a widow in an Inheritance Act claim involving a long period of pre-marital cohabitation, a high standard of living and illiquid overseas assets.
  • Acting for the executors of a will validity dispute concerning a multimillion-pound estate involving valuable artwork and charitable trusts.
  • Acting for the mother of minor children in an Inheritance Act claim involving a pre-existing Schedule 1 order, a deed of covenant to make provision by will, and significant financial non-disclosure.

Other notable contentious work includes:

  • Acting for HRH Princess Haya of Jordan in matrimonial proceedings against her former husband, HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum (Haya Bint Al Hussein v His Highness Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum [2021] EWFC 94) while on secondment at Payne Hicks Beach (2020)

Before joining Chambers, Roxane was on secondment with Farrer & Co’s Contentious Trusts & Estates team during which time she advised and assisted on a wide range of contentious matters, including cross-border trust disputes, will validity disputes, Inheritance Act claims, trust variation, trustee removal, company strike off and contempt proceedings.

  • Advising beneficiaries in respect of a trust restructuring (c. £65m.) including a large property portfolio in England and oil and gas companies in Cyprus.
  • Representing the minor and unborn beneficiaries in a Public Trustee v Cooper blessing application involving an Isle of Man Trust (c. $25m) and complex U.S. tax issues (with Gilead Copper KC for the executors);
  • Advising a former company director on the effect of an order for injunctive relief arising from breaches of confidence and fiduciary duties.
  • Advising a divorcing spouse in respect of complex company undertakings to implement a “Wells-sharing” order.
  • Advising executors in a will construction dispute involving valuation and tax issues relating of a large art collection.

Swiss matters

  • Advising a Singaporean entity on legal challenges to an arbitration award in Switzerland in the context of an ongoing multi-billion investor state claim against Australia.
  • Advising Swiss trustees on strike off and voluntary liquidation of an English limited company held in trust.
  • Advice on the recognition and enforcement in England of a Swiss child custody order, and on securing a mirror child arrangements order.
  • Advising the executors of an English Estate on the effect of Swiss inheritance contracts in an international succession.
  • Advising on the enforcement of a Swiss order for the sale of valuable artwork located in England.
  • Advising on the status of a covenant to make financial provision upon death in an Anglo-Swiss succession dispute involving a Swiss inheritance contract.
  • Advice on Swiss marriage contracts and mirror pre-/post-nuptial agreements in England.
  • Advice on pension sharing in Switzerland following divorce proceedings in England.
