Private Client Breakfast Briefing: 20 years of the Finance Act 2006

To begin our series of trusts breakfast briefings, our first session is “20 years of the Finance Act 2006”.

This series is aimed at domestic trusts, probate, and tax lawyers, showcasing our members’ expertise in both trust and probate disputes, and in non-contentious matters including VTA applications, technical questions of construction and drafting, and the taxation of settlements and estates.

This Trusts Breakfast Briefing session is entitled, ‘20 years of the Finance Act 2006‘, and will cover:

• Gifts with reservation – the FA 2006 seen in a broader context
• Being a tax efficient testator/testatrix – IHT issues for will drafters after the FA 2006
• Dealing with pre-FA 2006 interests – appointments, advancements, and tax traps for the unwary

Jennifer Seaman will be chairing the panel, with Jonathan Davey KC, Simon Atkinson and Michael Ashdown speaking from 8.30am at The Wilberforce Building, 77 Chancery Lane. We will be providing an excellent spread of breakfast items and hot drinks upon arrival, and the talk will start at 8.45am.
