New silks: Bobby Friedman KC and Jack Watson KC

Wilberforce Chambers is delighted to announce that Bobby Friedman and Jack Watson have been appointed King’s Counsel at today’s ceremony at Westminster Hall.

Bobby Friedman KC

Bobby is regularly instructed to lead teams in cases of the highest value and importance, of substantial complexity, and with international elements across many jurisdictions. He has been appointed silk after just 14 years in practice.

He specialises in general commercial disputes, with a particular emphasis on civil fraud, as well as shareholder disputes and commercial cases with a trusts angle.

Bobby appears regularly in both the Commercial and Chancery Courts as well as in international arbitrations, and is an experienced, robust and effective cross-examiner. He has substantial offshore experience, including appearing frequently in the BVI, DIFC and ADGM.

Recent comments in the legal directories include that he is “a tenacious and extremely impressive barrister who is highly commercial in his mindset and excellent on his feet”, and that he is “commercially aware, astute and highly intelligent. He is pure class.”

Bobby recognises the importance of a detailed and analytical approach, and combines this with pragmatism and tenacity.

Jack Watson KC

Appointed a KC after only 13 years in practice, Jack is described as “utterly unflappable”, “able to dissemble papers in seconds”, “excellent on his feet” and “deadly on cross-examination” leaving “no stone unturned”. His “ability to get to the heart of complex disputes is very impressive”.

Jack specialises in complex and high value commercial disputes with particular emphasis on civil fraud, shareholder disputes, trusts and technical insolvency. He appears regularly in both the High Court and at appellate level including in the Privy Council and Court of Appeal as well as the courts of other jurisdictions. He is also regularly instructed on jurisdiction challenges and urgent applications including for freezing and/or search and related relief.

Jack has extensive experience of leading large teams on complex, high-value matters, often with a multi-jurisdictional dimension or in the public eye.

Jack appreciates the importance of giving clear practical advice and rolling up his sleeves to fight hard for his clients.
