View moreDaniel has a busy commercial practice, specialising in commercial litigation, civil fraud, banking and finance, company law, restructuring and insolvency. Daniel has experience acting at all stages of commercial litigation including applications seeking permission to serve out of the jurisdiction, interim injunctions and other relief. Alongside Daniel’s litigation practice, he also has a technical company and insolvency advisory practice, where he advises on applications under the Companies Act 2006 and the Insolvency Act 1986, as well as corporate transactions. Daniel is happy to be instructed as sole counsel or as part of a counsel team in both on and offshore matters and has appeared unled in both the High Court and County Court.
Before joining Chambers, Daniel received a first class degree in law from Durham University. He then took a first in the MCL at Cambridge University before completing an MPhil in Law at Oxford University, where his research focused on the proper purpose duty in company law. During this time, Daniel taught contract and company law at Oxford University. Daniel was also a research assistant to both Professor Ben McFarlane and the Business Law Research Group at Oxford, where he assisted with projects concerning trusts, equity, insolvency, banking, finance and company law.
Alongside his practice, Daniel maintains an academic interest in law, continuing to teach company and Roman law at Oxford University. Daniel is also completing a part-time DPhil (doctorate) in Law at Oxford with a focus on the control of discretionary powers in commercial contract, company and insolvency law. These commitments do not affect Daniel’s availability.
