Challenging decision-makers

Wilberforce Chambers is delighted to invite you to our annual Insolvency Conference & Dinner which will take place on Wednesday 23rd April 2025 at InterContinental Park Lane, London, followed by a drinks reception, and dinner at Theo Randall restaurant.

This year’s conference will focus on “Challenging Decision-Makers”, and topics include: challenging trustees; challenging MVL liquidators; challenging directors; and challenging officeholders.

Guest Speaker: His Honour Judge Dight CBE

We’re excited to announce that our guest speaker session for this event will be “Challenging the Judge: in conversation with His Honour Judge Dight CBE”.

Marc was appointed as a Chancery Specialist Circuit Judge in 2007 and has for about 10 years been the Designated Civil Judge for Central London and Mayors & City courts and is the leadership judge for 27 salaried and many fee-paid judges.  He was, until recently, the Lead Diversity & Community Relations Judge in which post he led, but did not manage, more than 150 judges in all jurisdictions around England and Wales.  He has lots of practical experience of selecting, training, and supporting judges in many different roles. In 2017, he was awarded CBE for services to Diversity and Community Relations in the Judiciary. He sits in the county court, and as a Deputy High Court Judge in the KBD and the Administrative Court and occasionally sits in the Crown Court.  At the weekend he switches off his email and disappears into the garden or out of London whenever possible.
